The Five Nights At Freddys game is the legendary indie horror title that started it all. You play as a night-shift security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Your job is to survive five nights, from 12 AM to 6 AM, as haunted animatronics try to reach your office.
In Five Nights At Freddys, you are stationary in your office. You cannot move. You have two main tools: the security camera monitor and the door controls. You use the cameras to track the movements of the four main animatronics: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. You can also turn on lights outside your two doors to check if anyone is there. If an animatronic is at your door, you must press the button to close it. The catch? Everything you doโusing cameras, lights, or closing doorsโconsumes your limited power supply. If you run out of power, you are defenseless. You win a night by surviving until 6 AM.
Power conservation is the entire game. Do not ‘camp’ on the cameras. A good strategy is: check left light, check right light, flip up camera, quickly check Foxy’s ‘Pirate Cove’ (to keep him from running), and quickly check Freddy’s location. Then put the camera down. Repeat. Listen for footsteps. You can often hear when Bonnie or Chica are at your door. This is much faster than checking the lights. Foxy (in Pirate Cove) is on a timer. If you do not check on him, he will run. If you check on him too much, he will run. Find the balance. The sequels, like Five Nights At Freddys 2, change this formula completely.
The controls for Five Nights At Freddys unblocked are all mouse-based, designed to be simple to use but stressful to manage.
The simplicity of the controls in the Five Nights At Freddys game makes the tension even higher. You know exactly what to do, but managing it all under pressure is the real challenge.
The ‘Phone Guy’ who leaves you messages explains the lore. The animatronics are believed to be haunted by the spirits of children. They see you (the adult guard) as an ‘endoskeleton’ without a costume and try to ‘fix’ you by stuffing you into a spare Freddy suit.
Foxy hides in ‘Pirate Cove’ (Cam 1C). You must check on him periodically. If you see him peeking out, you are checking enough. If he is gone, he is running to your office. Immediately close the left-hand door. You will hear a ‘bang’ as he hits it.
There is a large element of Random Number Generation (RNG) in the animatronics’ movements, especially on later nights. However, a perfect strategy and fast reflexes can overcome the bad luck. It is a mix of both skill and luck.
