The Five Nights At Freddys 3 game shifts the formula significantly. Set 30 years after the original, you are a guard at ‘Fazbear’s Fright’, a horror attraction. There is only one real animatronic who can kill you: Springtrap. However, you must also fend off ‘phantom’ animatronics who trigger system failures.
In Five Nights At Freddys 3, your goal is survival. You have two monitors. The main monitor (on your right) is for your security cameras. You must find where Springtrap is. You can use an ‘Audio’ button to play a sound in an adjacent camera feed, ‘luring’ Springtrap towards that sound. This is your only defense. Your second monitor (on your left) is a ‘Reboot’ panel. The ‘phantom’ animatronics will randomly appear and jumpscare you, ‘breaking’ your Audio, Video, or Ventilation. You must use the reboot panel to fix them. If your ventilation fails, you will black out, giving Springtrap free reign.
Your main goal is to ‘trap’ Springtrap. Find a camera feed that is far away from your office, like Cam 09 or Cam 10. Once you lure him there, you can ‘seal’ the nearby vent (by double-clicking the camera icon) and just keep playing the audio in that one room. He will be stuck. The phantoms cannot kill you. They just jumpscare you and break a system. Do not panic. Just open the reboot panel and fix it. Ventilation is the most critical system to reboot first. This game is about luring, not blocking, making it unique among the FNAF games.
The controls for Five Nights At Freddys 3 unblocked are all mouse-based, but require you to look around your office to use different panels.
Managing these three separate interfaces (looking, cams, reboot) is the core challenge of the Five Nights At Freddys 3 game. It is a game of management and strategy, not just reflexes.
Springtrap is the main antagonist of the entire FNAF series. The lore reveals he is the decayed corpse of the original killer, William Afton, who became trapped inside the ‘Spring Bonnie’ animatronic suit decades earlier.
You can avoid most of them. Phantom Freddy: Do not look at him as he walks past the window. Phantom Balloon Boy: Switch your camera feed immediately when his face appears. Phantom Chica: Do not look at her on the arcade machine screen. Phantom Foxy: Do not look at him in the office.
FNAF 3 has a ‘Good Ending’ and a ‘Bad Ending’. To get the good ending, you must find and complete a series of hidden 8-bit minigames throughout the five nights. This finally ‘frees’ the spirits of the children.
